Baixo Guandu in Espírito Santo, Brazil receives from March 31 to April 7 the Pan American Paragliding Championship.

Conheciada por suas excelentes condições de voo, a rampa do Monjolo, já recebeu grandes eventos do voo livre como etapas do Brasileiro de Parapente, PWC, alem do Campeonato Estadual.

Baixo Guandu, is located northwest of the State of Espirito Santo, large events such as Brazilian Paragliding and PWC have already been held, in addition to other stages of the State Championship. Recently the ramp by way of the local club has undergone several improvements, such as bathrooms, shade, web-cam, new lawn, ramp extension.
Most importantly the location offers great year-round flight possibilities.

The ramp of the Monjolo has710 meters of unevenness, in the coordinates S 19º 37 ‘874 “W 040º 50’ 100”

The City

The municipality is located in the Center-West Region of Espírito Santo, 186 km from the state capital. They are 931 square kilometers of area and a population of approximately 30 thousand inhabitants. Baixo Guandu with a tropical metamorphic and subhumid climate, it has four districts (Alto Mutum Preto, Ibituba, Km 14 of Mutum and Vila Nova do Bananal) and is part of the Tourist Region of Doce Pontões.

With a culture and a hospitable people, the city offers delicious homemade food and natural beauties with beautiful landscapes, such as Pedra do Souza, as well as beautiful waterfalls and a very rich handicraft.

Baixo Guandu offers attractions for all tastes and ages, with various events throughout the year, among them the Feast of St. Peter, patron of the city on June 29.

This event has a great importance to FAI, similar to the World’s.

The registration follows FAI 1 standards, summarized below:
1) Pre registration must be made by December 30th, 2017. After that, pilot registering will only be considered if there are still places available from the 150 pilot maximum.
2) Selection process will follow FAI Sporting Code section 7A 2.2.2. and 2.3
3) To be eligible to participate in this event you must:
a) Be in the top 1500 pilots in the WPRS (December Ranking) or have scored minimum of 20 points in a FAI event in the last 2 years. You can verify your ranking at http://civlrankings.fai.org/?a=326&ladder_id=3&
b) Have an online sporting license for your nation valid for the dates of the event (see FAI S7 2.5.4)
4) Each country NAC will receive the list of Pre registered pilots for validation
5) Each NAC will indicate the Country’s National Team (6 pilots maximum, being 5 men and 1 woman) and other pilots they approve to compete in the event under their national flag (up to 80 pilot maximum per nation)

7) We will wait for your NAC to send a confirmation that you can participate in the event. By January 10th we expect to send you the payment instruction and thus complete your registration.
